Entertainment Appliances have become a part and parcel of modern life. The fast pace of modern life and a very busy society, leaves very little space for entertainment. Personal Care Appliances are taking care of their body and Entertainment Appliances are taking care of their stressed minds. HiFi is one of the most popular Entertainment Appliances. HiFi is the abbreviation of the term “high fidelity”. During the 1950s, the popularity of HiFi was at its peak. The term was generally associated to the description of images and sound reproduction in its most perfect form.
Sound reproduction by HiFi are usually in its clearest form, with not much interference of noises coming from the background. The distortion is close to being minimal. The special feature of the HiFi is to be in sync with the original as much as possible. For this reason, there are limitations in enhancements. Though many people were not sure about the utility of the system, it soon became quite popular among the masses. There was widespread skepticism about its usage. Many thought that it was just a trap to entice people to buy costly and expensive equipments. But the belief was soon broken as people started to realize that HiFi indeed, offer reproductions of high quality. HiFi constituents soon became extremely popular and the many used the term to describe the technology as well as the constituents themselves.

Presently, HiFi is associated with sound systems which are more than average in quality. The constituents of home theater systems are also referred by this term. The term might include TV, DVD, satellite receivers, CD player, speakers and other constituents of the stereo.
