Of all the modern appliances that one may ever think of Televisions undoubtedly have revolutionized the world and the way we perceive things. One of the prominent medium of the visual media Televisions today are not only great source of entertainment but wonderful modes of information too. Televisions as a product became available from 1930s. Initially the technology applied in television was meant for black and white view. Movies had already introduced moving pictures to the world. But Televisions brought the world inside the drawing room and one could now see moving pictures that could talk too! A Televisions designed in such a way that it can receive different broadcast and video formats. For a simple broadcast system the visual images come as electrical signals. The sound source is an electrical signal from a microphone. Some times the sound source also comes from a video tape recorder or motion picture film scanner. Televisions also need antennas coupled with the output of the transmitter ideal for broadcasting the encoded signal. An audio amplifier and loudspeaker are also necessary for great picture and ideal sound. Communication from the studio to the transmitter is accomplished via a dedicated cable or radio system.
