Fluorescent Tubes |
If you want to light up your house with extra vigor and additional luminescence, then there is no alternative to fluorescent tubes. Fluorescent tubes with their enormous light and vigor will illuminate your home.
Fluorescent tubes are gas discharge tubes in which mercury vapor is excited by using electricity in neon or argon gas resulting in plasma producing short-wave ultraviolet light. Phospher fluoresce by this light turning out visible light. The mechanism of fluorescent tubes is different from that of incandescent tubes. The flow of power through the tube is regulated by ballast in fluorescent tubes. This ballast is necessary in these tubes and is enclosed in the tube fixtures.
The history of fluorescent tubes is interesting. Radiant glow emanating while electric light passed from glass vessels, which are partially evacuated, caught the attention of experimenters. German glassblower, Johann Geissler created a mercury vaccum pump in 1856. The Geissler tube displayed some sizzling light effects when electricity passed through it. Then a series of inventions followed. Herman Sprengel created a nice and effective mercury vaccum pump. In 1897 electron was discovered by J.J. Thomson. One of the leading discoveries regarding the fluorescent tube was the luminescence of some substances while placed in a Geissler tube, observed by Alexandre Edmond Becquerel. Then after traversing a long path fluorescent tubes came into existence.
